Pôles représente le mouvement naturel entre les solstices, comme un long fondu-enchaîné. Ce mouvement peut aussi être vu sous l'angle de la tension oscillant entre les pôles électriques négatif et positif, ainsi qu'à la forme de la courbe sinusoidale du son. La pièce présente deux paysages naturalistes qui se synthétisent progressivement, comme une peinture de paysage figurative se métamorphoserait en tableau abstrait. Ces deux épisodes (été et hiver) atteignent chacun un paroxysme électrique représentant la technologification du monde. Le chant mélodique d'un oiseau, le bruant à gorge blanche, agit comme leitmotiv mélodique à travers la pièce, qui commence et se termine sur un vent désertique. Bref, Pôles explore notre relation à la nature et à la technologie.

Pôles represents the natural movement between solstices, as two long cross-fades. Also this mouvment can be seen as the tension oscillating between positive and negative electric poles and the sinusoidal shape of a sound wave. It presents two naturalistic soundscapes which get progressively synthetic, as a natural landscape painting would transform into abstract forms. Those two episodes (summer and winter) reach an electrical paroxysm that represent the technologification of the world. The melodic singing of a bird, the white-throated sparrow, act like a leitmotiv all through the piece, which begins and ends on a desertic wind. Globally, Pôles talks about our relation with nature and technology.
